The entire conference will be held online using the Blackboard Collaborate webinar platform. Attend from anywhere that has Internet access.

Abstract to my Session: Be a MAKER, not a Taker - Hacking (Music) Education

I am conducting a mobile learning project using tablets and Webtools at a German secondary school since 2011. I am producing music, apps, Vines, Blogs and ebooks with the students of my music classes and with students at local University of Applied Sciences. During the session I will show many best practices, concerning:

  • true participation
  • making and getting things done
  • playing and producing music with technology
  • enhance all dusty (music) education with 21century tools
  • have fun with learning
  • share your stuff with others
  • Of course, I will show some Apps specially designed for the making of music (like iMaschine, Garage Band, Figure) but I will shift their usage to other educational scenarios and subjects. Mentioned web tools and platforms for sharing will be Wiki, Blog, Google+ Hangouts and Vines for Microtutorials.
